NBA Draft: Marcus Morris heads to Houston

With the NBA dream of his twin brother, Markieff, already underway, Marcus Morris didn't have to wait long for his turn at the podium.

The 6-foot-8 combo forward was selected with the 14th pick by the Houston Rockets, just one pick after his brother was selected at No. 13 by the Phoenix Suns.

The Rockets probably felt extremely fortunate the younger Morris Twin fell to them, said ESPN draft analyst Jay Bilas.

"He's a power forward that can step away," Bilas said. "And he is working on his game to be able to play the three. Very good in the post, he's got a turnaround jumper over either shoulder and he makes it with regularity. Very skilled, and very, very efficient."

As a junior at Kansas, Morris averaged 17.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, while shooting a staggering 57-percent from the floor. His performance earned him Big 12 Player of the Year and All-Big 12 First Team honors. Top Stories
