Kansas lands 3-star Texas TE

Last week, Waco (TX) Reicher Catholic tight end Jordan Smith told Phog.net the Jayhawks were the leader in the race for his services - and this week the 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect decided to put an end to his recruitment.

Smith confirmed his commitment to Scout.com this morning.

A tall, rangy athlete, he selected Kansas over offers from Cincinnati, UTEP and others, with interest on the table from the likes Arkansas, Missouri and Texas Tech.

Here's what Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Powers has to say about the talented Texan:

"This is a solid pick-up and he is one of the more complete tight ends in the Midlands this year. He is more of a receiving threat right now, but has a nice frame. Once he bulks up in college he could develop in to a real commodity."
