Five-star SG sets official to Kansas

When "Legends of the Phog" was officially announced by the Kansas Athletics earlier this month, it was assumed the star-studded event - set for Sept. 24 - would make for a prime recruiting weekend. It didn't take long for that assumption to begin to prove itself true.

Sherwood (AR) Sylvan Hills shooting guard Archie Goodwin confirmed to on Tuesday night he would be in attendance for the festivities, on an official visit.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Goodwin is one of the most sought-after prospects in the Class of 2012, and is coming off an impressive summer despite battling injury.'s Brian Snow listed him as one of the most impressive performers at Peach Jam in mid-July, an event that always features some of the best talent from throughout the country.

"It is impressive what Goodwin was able to do considering he could only dribble with one hand," Snow wrote. "His left hand is in a cast from a June wrist injury, yet he still managed to dominate scoring the basketball. Goodwin was unstoppable going to the rim and using his athleticism, and then for good measure was hitting jumpers. It was an impressive overall showing for him."

Legends of the Phog will see many of the top Kansas players from the tenures of current head coach Bill Self and former head coach Roy Williams return to historic Allen Fieldhouse for an exhibition event - including NBA legend Paul Pierce.

Check back for more information later in the week, as hopes to have a complete update following an interview with Goodwin as his schedule allows. Top Stories
