BREAKING: Jake Heaps to KU

Well, it's been a big day already for Kansas fans. First, the news of Dayne Crist's transfer to Kansas broke Thursday morning, and this afternoon another former five-star signal caller followed suit. Jake Heaps confirmed to just minutes ago that he will be a Kansas Jayhawk.

Heaps made the decision official early this afternoon.

"Got a call from Dayne this morning and heard the news from him," the now-former BYU Cougar said. "Called Coach Weis less than an hour ago."

As a prep star out of Sammamish (WA) Skyline High School in the Class of 2010, Heaps was rated as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the country by He chose BYU over a slew of scholarship offers from the likes of California, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Washington.

In two seasons with BYU he completed 363 of 635 pass attempts for 3,768 yards and 24 touchdowns. He announced Dec. 5 his decision to transfer from the Cougars program, and visited Kansas officially last weekend.
