Monday, he's a Kansas Jayhawk.
Allen made the decision after conferring with family members, following an official visit to Lawrence, Kan. that took place last weekend.
"My dad and my sister, they had a list of things, and Kansas won that," the 6-foot, 170-pound prospect said. "And it's a place where my family can see me play."
While on his visit, Allen had a chance to spend some time with new Jayhawks defensive coordinator Dave Campo, who will also coach defensive backs - and he came away impressed.
"He's a good coach," he explained. "He's wants to teach me the game of football, and about becoming a better young man."
"They want to turn it around there and get the program started," Allen added.
Allen chose Kansas over offers from Utah and Ole Miss.
