KU Junior Day: Dan Morin

The state of Kansas is home to a number of quality offensive linemen in the Class of 2013, and most of them were in Lawrence, Kan. last weekend for Junior Day with the Kansas Jayhawks. One of them was Overland Park (KS) St. Thomas Aquinas guard Dan Morin, Scout.com caught up with him to discuss his visit.

At 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, Dan Morin is a bruiser on the offensive line for the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints, and one of the top junior line prospects in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Last weekend, he was part of a crowd of talented underclassmen on campus at the University of Kansas, as Head Coach Charlie Weis and the football program hosted its first Junior Day event of the year.

"It went really well," Morin said. "I really liked it. I think all the new facilities are really nice. They're the best facilities I've ever seen."

While on campus, he had the chance to speak with offensive line coach Tim Grunhard, who until recently prowled the opposing sideline versus St. Thomas Aquinas annually as the head coach at Roeland Park (KS) Bishop Miege.

"We were just talking about high school," Morin said. "We used to play against him. He just said that I'm on his radar and he'll be looking at me more. I'm going to come up in spring and for some camps in the summer."

The big o-lineman will also attend Junior Day at Kansas State the weekend of Feb. 25. For now, however, it's back to the same off-season workout regimen he's maintained since football season ended, training with former Kansas State star and long-time NFL linebacker Mark Simoneau.

"He has a gym pretty close to my house and I work out with him, do speed and agility (drills) with him," Morin said. "This is my first year. I think I've gotten a lot stronger. He really knows how to get better."
