Border War drawing big-time visitors

'Late Night in the Phog' is typically regarded as the premiere recruiting event at the University of Kansas each year, but this season it appears as if it will have some competition atop the hill. When the Jayhawks host the Missouri Tigers next weekend - for possibly the last time - it looks as if a handful of the nation's top prospects will be on hand.

The final regular season edition of the Border War between Kansas and Missouri is shaping up to be a star-studded affair on the recruiting front for the Jayhawks, as several top prospects and commits from the classes of 2012 and 2013 will be planted behind the bench.

Class of 2012

Jakarr Sampson - Official Visitor - Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy

Shabazz Muhammad - Official Visitor - Las Vegas Bishop Gorman

Perry Ellis - Signee - Wichita (KS) Heights

Class of 2013

Brannen Greene - Commit - Forsyth (GA) Mary Persons

Conner Frankamp - Commit - Wichita (KS) North

That list is impressive on its own, but it may not yet be complete. Senior big man Tony Parker, who has long contemplated an official visit to Kansas, and 2013 forward Chris Walker have both indicated via their Twitter accounts they're likely to attend as well - though neither are set in stone as of yet.

Charlotte (NC) Olympic combo guard Allerik Freeman was rumored to attend as well. spoke with Olympic head coach Ty Baumgardner on Thursday, who said while the five-star guard looked in to attending with his father, the two would be unable to make it.
