Head Coach Charlie Weis and the Kansas Jayhawks targeted Roeland Park (KS) Bishop Miege quarterback Montell Cozart early, making him the first local prospect they offered in the Class of 2013. They've kept up the pressure since, and Saturday those efforts paid off.

Montell Cozart was the 2011 Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year, who put up huge numbers for former head coach Tim Grunhard - now the offense line coach at Kansas - and the Stags.

He completed 65.7-percent of his passes, throwing for 2,448 yards, 31 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. A high-caliber athlete, Cozart is also capable runner, and last season he rushed for 534 yards and another seven touchdowns.

Cozart also held offers from Minnesota, West Virginia and Northern Illinois. He is on the road right now, but stay tuned to and for more this evening! Top Stories
