Kansas commit picks up Big 10 offer

Anyone with the slightest familiarity with the recruiting process knows it doesn't end until a signature is written on a National Letter of Intent. So it should come as no surprise that Montell Cozart is continuing to draw interest - despite his verbal commitment to Kansas.

A 6-foot-2, 180-pound quarterback out of Roeland Park (KS) Bishop Miege, Montell Cozart is perhaps the top signal caller in the Sunflower State from the Class of 2013 and one of the tops in the Kansas City metropolitan region.

He gave his verbal pledge to Head Coach Charlie Weis and the Kansas Jayhawks in late March, but that hasn't stopped programs from continuing to express their interest. Recently, Indiana added their name to his list of scholarship offers - bringing the total to five, including four from the BCS ranks - and Illinois stopped by Bishop Miege.

The 2011 Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year, Cozart said he remains solid with the Jayhawks. He'll be in Lawrence, Kan. this weekend for the Kansas spring game.
