Kansas athlete trims list to three

In recent weeks, Jerel Morrow has scooped up scholarship offers from several high-quality BCS football programs, and now he's decided to take the next step in his recruitment.

A 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver/safety from Emporia (KS) High, Jerel Morrow recently trimmed his list to three schools - Kansas State, Nebraska and Oklahoma State - citing their stability as one of the primary factors in his decision.

"They're established programs," he said. "They've been there for a while. Their staff hasn't moved around too much. But they're just great schools to play football at - they're powerhouses."

The cut effectively eliminates Kansas, Minnesota and Missouri from contention, as well as Army.

Now, Morrow will look to finish out another stellar track season during the next couple of weeks, before turning his attention to June and - hopefully - a trio of unofficial visits with his mother. She'll be a huge part of the process when it comes time to make a final decision, something he hopes to have done by the end of the summer.

"The recruitment process is getting kind of tiring," Morrow said. "But I need to actually sit down and assess which school would be the best fit for me."
