Greene will play with Atlanta Celtics

After the Florida Rams were one of four teams banned from participation in certified events by the NCAA early this month, 2013 star and Kansas commit Brannen Greene was left looking for a new AAU team with which to finish his travel career. Monday, he and his family chose one close to home.

After attending one of their practices Monday night, Georgia native Brannen Greene - a Kansas commitment - decided to finish the summer with the Atlanta Celtics, according to his father, Jeffrey Greene.

Previously, the five-star prospect played with one of the most talented lineups on the AAU circuit with the Florida Rams - a team which included fellow five-star talents Kasey Hill and Chris Walker. However, the Rams were banned from certified competition by the NCAA - one of four teams to receive the penalty - due to alleged ties to a professional sports agent.

The ban means the four teams would be unable to participate in the all-important July evaluation period, during which coaches are allowed to attend events and scout prospects in person.

The Celtics are an Adidas sponsored organization.

Greene is having an outstanding summer, maintaining his status with as one of the elite prospects in the country and displaying versatility to his game beyond the deadly outside jumper which is his hallmark. Top Stories
