Embiid Down To Three, Decision Next Thursday
One of the hottest recruits in the class of 2013 is that much closer to choosing his future home. Four-star big man Joel Embiid of Gainesville's (Florida) The Rock School announced Wednesday night via twitter that his list is now down to three. Embiid named Florida, Kansas and Texas as the three finalists, eliminating Virginia and Marquette. Embiid's high school coach Justin Harden told scout.com earlier in the day that Embiid would trim the list from five where it was originally down to three because he hadn't officially done that with any of the other schools. "It looks like he's going to try and trim it to three and down to one next week," Harden told Scout.com's Evan Daniels. Harden, also told Daniels that Embiid was going to visit Florida, Wednesday to meet with Gators coach Billy Donovan. "He's going to go over and meet with Coach Donovan after practice," Harden said. "That's the convenience for them recruiting in their background." It was also expected that Kansas and Texas would be stopping by The Rock School to meet with Embiid. Harden also confirmed to Scout that Embiid would announce his decision at a press conference, next Thursday, November 15th. "He's close," Harden said. "It's not like he's going to make any decision this week. Next week we are having a signing ceremony. He'll know by then."
