With this week's commitment of Shawnee Mission West (KS) cornerback Andre Maloney, the Kansas Jayhawks continue their solid start to the 2014 recruiting class.

Maloney (6-2, 180) joins center Jacob Bragg, safety Joe Dineen, linebacker Kyron Watson and big time running back Traevohn Wrench in a class that will be sure to turn some heads next February.

Maloney's addition will only enhance a secondary that received big upgrades this past year, as the 2013 class feature several JUCO transfers who will make a big impact. Players such as Dexter McDonald, Kevin Short, Cassius Sendish as well as safety Isaiah Johnson will start things off in 2013, by forming a unit that will be fast and physical.

In 2014, Kansas will start to interject high school talent into the unit and Maloney is a player that will blend in perfectly.

At 6-2, 180 pounds and with a 40 time of 4.50, it's clear that defensive coordinator Dave Campo will be amped to coach this unit. As for Maloney, Campo has paid him the ultimate compliment, comparing him to Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, a player Campo coached during his Super Bowl championship days with the Dallas Cowboys.
