Not too often in football can a coach say his team is pretty much healthy, but that's exactly what Kansas head coach Charlie Weis proclaimed, earlier this week, as his second season leading the Jayhawks finally kicks off, Saturday night against South Dakota.
After a fall camp and long week following a bye week to begin the season, Kansas will send its players on to the field at Memorial Stadium in good health.
"The only guy who is not going is (Marcus) Jenkins-Moore. In fact, that's our injury list," Weis said.
While the JUCO transfer will miss the entire 2013 season with a leg injury, Weis' comment clearly illustrates how fortunate the Jayhawks are, compared to past years. It's likely also another clear reason that Saturday night can not get here fast enough for the players and coaches, as Kansas looks to snap an 11-game losing streak and start what they hope will be a bounce back year after going a combined 6-30 the past three seasons.
