Kansas commit Apa Visinia has quietly gone about his season but the accolades are starting to roll in for the offensive lineman from Missouri.
Visinia earned first team all-conference honors for the year. He centered his thoughts around his team's performance, however.
"It went really well," he said of his senior season. "We had a decent year and had a really great group of guys. I'm proud of what we accomplished and I'm excited for the future."
Visinia committed to the Jayhawks back in June but has been back to the campus several times since then.
"I've been back to Kansas a few times this season for games," Visinia noted. "I've loved it each time I've been there. I'll be taking my official visit to Kansas sometime in January."
Visinia shed some light on his feelings about this year's Kansas football team.
"It's definitely been a rebuilding year," he acknowledged. "It hasn't been as successful as they may have liked it to be but it's at least headed in the right direction."
"I've also admired the team's spirit," he added. "They've never played like a team with a defeated will. They always go out and play like they're an undefeated team. They have some swagger. I'm sure within the next few years Kansas will be the talk of the state instead of Kansas State."
The two-star offensive guard believes he has a lot to bring to the Jayhawk program and feels like he can provide it immediately.
"I want to be able to fight for a starting spot and open up some running lanes for guys to run through," he stated. "I also want to provide the quarterback with time to throw the ball. I believe I can do both exceptionally and I'm confident I'll be doing both right away."
