Kansas will get some good news when they face Texas Tech, Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse with the return of freshman point guard Devonte' Graham. Graham has missed the last four weeks with a turf toe injury sustained in a December win at Georgetown.
Head coach Bill Self told CBS Sports Radio early Saturday that his return would in fact be Saturday after it was thought that it might be another game before Graham could return. He stated earlier in the week that his main concern was Graham's physical shape after not being able to participate in much while wearing a medical boot on the injured foot.
“If he’s able to go full speed (in practice), depending on how he feels, he (could play) spot minutes (Saturday),” Self said Friday. “But I would say right now, he’s probably doubtful, but that may could become questionable, but I wouldn’t think it’s probable.”
Earlier this past week, Self said he was still considering a medical redshirt for the talented young guard who was off to a solid start to the season. He was expected to miss about four weeks at best with the injury. Saturday will mark four weeks since he was first sidelined.
