Liam Jones chose Kansas over interest from Oklahoma State, Wisconsin and Southern Illinois. He was won over by the opportunity to work with KU special teams coach Joe DeForest
Jones: “I’ve toured a lot of campuses, but there’s nothing like the tradition at Kansas. I love the feel of the campus. Being the kicker, you’re not at the top of the totem pole for attention or respect, but every coach is shaking my hand and looking me in the eyes. They tell me they can’t wait to have me on campus. Having a coach like coach DeForest, who has some pretty good experience.”
Jones has a short field goal kicking stroke that should help avoid potential disaster. He's reportedly reliable and accurate from short-to-mid range, but will need to add some power to become a consistent Big 12-level threat.
