Giles Sets KU Visit

After a strong summer campaign, C.J. Giles is setting up his official visits. Kansas fans now officially have a date with the big man from Seattle.

C.J. Giles, a 6 foot 10 inch center from Seattle, Washington has an official visit scheduled with Kansas for the final weekend of September.

According to his Uncle, Phillip Heinsburg, Giles has reduced his list of schools to four.  "CJ went to Miami last weekend for his 1st visit." Heinsburg indicated that Giles enjoyed his time in the Sunshine State.  "He went to the Miami Florida game, and got to meet Warren Sapp and Vinny Testaverde.  He also liked the facilities, freshmen dorms, and the size of the school."

The second rated center on the West Coast by The Insiders Network heads to Old Dominion this weekend.  His other scheduled visit is with  Arizona, a school who came into the picture for CJ thanks to his play this summer.

Giles continues to move up on gurus' top 100 charts.  Giles had a productive summer playing for Gary Payton's select AAU squad, the athletic 225 pounder has all the prerequisites necessary to be a successful big time Division I player.

He shot 80 percent from the free throw line last year as a Junior.  Both his Mom and Dad played basketball at The University of Kansas.  Chester Giles averaged 3 points per game in a 2 year Jayhawk career during the 1979 and 1980 seasons.  His mother, Gail Goodwin played for one season in 1979.
