Ritenour Senior (Overland, Missouri) offensive tackle Nick Williams got his first Power 5 offer this week from the Kansas Jayhawks.
“It was a blessing,” Williams said. “I wasn’t really expecting. To get an offer like that just blew me away.”
Williams is a 6-foot-8, 265 pound offensive tackle, but will also be playing defensive end this season.
“Offense is looking like my favorite spot right now,” he said. “Not everyday, you see someone on the offensive line at 6-foot-8.”
He thinks playing defensive end will ultimately help him become a better tackle.
“I just want to help my team this season and help keep the defense off the field,” Williams said. “Playing defensive end, I’m going to be understand what they look for at that position. That will only help me become a better tackle.”
His physical stature and mobility combine to make him a formidable force for Ritenour High School.
“Being a bully,” Williams said about his strengths. “I’m explosive and quick off the line. I catch people off guard, because defenders don’t usually expect me to be as fast as I am.”
He wants to major in business.
“My dream college is where I am in a good program that has my major,” Williams said. “I’m looking for great teammates, great coaches and an overall good vibe.”
