2019 Louisiana CB Gregory Brooks exciited about KU offer

2019 Louisiana cornerback Gregory Brooks reacts to his new offer from Kansas.

West Jefferson (Harvey, LA) High School Gregory Brooks picked up an offer from Kansas earlier this week.

"I'm mostly hearing from Tony Hull. He made me the offer," Brooks said. "He visited me at West Jefferson. I really like the offer and was excited when I got it. I told him it was a blessing and I was excited about it."

"Kansas is my first Power 5 offer," Brooks said. "It feels great."

When Hull was doing work as a high school coach, Brooks was just in 8th grade, but he's caught on up what he means to the local football landscape.

"He means a lot down there," Brooks said. "He's big-time."

Brooks has offers from Tulane and Memphis, and has been hearing from the likes of Vanderbilt, LSU, TCU and Mississippi State.

"I'm trying to go to a Kansas camp this summer," Brooks said.

Brooks is a 5-foot-11, 170 pound corner who grabbed 36 tackles, four interceptions and 13 pass breakups as a sophomore.

"My coverage skills," Brooks said about what his strength is on the field. "I hope to get better at my tackling."

"Early playing time," Brooks said when asked what he's looking for in a college.
