Jayhawks named Team of the Week

Lawrence, Kan. -- On the strength of its 35-14 victory over arch-rival Missouri this past weekend in Lawrence, the University of Kansas football team was named CollegeSportsReport.com's NCAA I Team of the Week, in a release issued by the West Chicago-based website Monday afternoon.

KU's defense held Missouri to 196 yards of total offense in the game while the Jayhawk offense scored 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter for the blowout win. This week's award is the second this season from CollegeSportsReport.com, as earlier this year, it tabbed quarterback Bill Whittemore as it's Performer of the Week after his record-setting effort against UNLV.
