Robinson: His AD's Perspective

Q&A with Bill Sherlock, athletic director of Rice High School in New York City. Russell Robinson, a 6' 1" inch guard has given Bill Self's staff an oral commitment. What was your reaction to hearing about Russell Robinson's decision of Kansas?

Sherlock: "We're very pleased and very proud of Russell. He's been recruited by many fine schools and he's certainly picked a great one in Kansas." How would you describe Russell's personality?

Sherlock: "He's not a flashy person, Russell is very quiet and a very focused student. He's somebody who has a tremendous amount of heart." What does Robinson do well on the court?

Sherlock: "Russell has the tenacity in the back court, he's a fearless defender. He also likes to shoot the ball. He had an injury during his sophomore year, and has recovered nicely from that."

Robinson turned heads with his strong play this Summer. He was’s Player of the Summer in 2003 as he led the New York Gauchos to three AAU tournament titles. Top Stories
