Although Williams has some appealing options for college, KU is the only school he's scheduled an official visit with so far.
"I set up a visit in Lawrence for November the 21st, I think the team plays Iowa State and there's a basketball game that weekend as well" The kickoff against the Cyclones has not been set, and the b-ball team takes on UT Chattanooga the night before in the season opener.
Williams is playing multiple positons on offense for Desoto High School.
"I'm playing the most at quarterback, but we have a couple of formations where they throw me out at receiver."
The high school senior feels he'll be a wide out at the next level.
"I think most schools will try to play me at receiver, but I wouldn't have a problem playing either one."
His high school squad is 6 and 2 and in the middle of district play, where they sport a 3 and 1 record and are in the hunt for a post season birth. Williams has rushed for six touchdowns in 2003, and has gone to the air for two scores.
With both Kansas schools interested, Williams will pay close attention to this week's Sunflower Showdown.
"Absolutely, but it will not have a huge impact on a potential decision. If KU wins, it means they prepared and played very well and that they want to make a name for themselves."
