Fowler receives Big 12 honor

DALLAS - Rodney Fowler has been chosen as a SBC Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for games of Nov. 22 in voting by a select panel of media covering the Big 12.

Fowler had two interceptions against Iowa State with returns of 25 yards and 10 yards after he replaced starter Jonathan Lamb who was injured in the first half in a 36-7 win.

His 10-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter sealed KU's sixth victory of the year after he had the 25-yard INT in the third quarter for the first of his career. He helped the Kansas defense limit Iowa State to 115 yards rushing and 97 yards passing on the day.

Kansas State RB Darren Sproles, Oklahoma FS Brodney Pool (Co-Defense) and Oklahoma State punter Cole Farden were also honored. Top Stories
