"It was a great game with a great basketball atmosphere. Both teams competed hard. You have to give Mizzou credit and Quin (Snyder) credit, their guys came in and they played hard.
Our defense was excellent. We got important stops tonight. We didn't get a chance to get out and run much. Certainly after the first 10 minutes of the game there weren't very many easy baskets and guys had to earn everything. We did a good job in all areas defensively.
Keith Langford sacrificed points tonight when he was dog-tired to make sure he chased Paulding around and did a great job on him."

"We didn't play with any emotion in Ames. We really wanted to come back and bounce back, especially with a big time game like this. The fans were really into it. They got us pumped up and it just went from there." - Wayne Simien

"There is no let up. Then we have Oklahoma State on Monday. We said the season was starting and unfortunately we stubbed our toe and let one get away in Ames. These next two games are going to tell an awful lot about this league race." - Coach Bill Self
