"The Big 12 has a rule that you can only dress 15 on the road. We have 16 players and four walk-ons. It was a coaching decision. We have other guys that are busting their butts and paying their own way to school -- trying really hard. I just felt they deserved to be in uniform more so than Jeff (Graves). He will be in uniform unless something unforeseen happens between now and the next game. I anticipate him to be in uniform. How much he will play remains to be seen."
From the weekly Press Conference
"He is still with the team. Whether or not he plays or how much he plays will be determined on some different things. He is still on the team right now."
"It was my decision not to play him on Sunday. If he doesn't play again it will be my decision. It is a situation that I don't want to deal with any longer as far as handling negativity with Jeff. I just want him to take care of business."
"When you don't have your full complement of players or there is a surprise then it becomes a distraction. I am not saying that just about Jeff. I am saying it in general. Is it a distraction worthy of dismissing a youngster in his senior year from a basketball team -- I would like for it not to be. I really like the guy and would like to see him do well and finish strong. If it gets to the point where it hurts the team then you have to make decisions. We haven't gotten to that point yet."
"We probably decided on Thursday night (to not suit him up) and told him on Friday."
"He just had a really bad week. I don't think we should be talking about Jeff -- I think we should be talking about the guys that played. After we got it handed to us in Stillwater, we challenged the guys to really recommit and work hard. We were going to play the guys that worked the hardest and that give us energy. Our bench hasn't been as productive as what it potentially could be. Jeff did not respond to those type of challenges."
