Kevin Lisch, the floor general from Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, IL is drawing attention from several strong programs in the Midwest -- including the Kansas Jayhawks -- but right now the Billikens of St. Louis University might be his fictitious mascot of choice.
Kevin is a natural born leader. His father played quarterback at Notre Dame and quarterbacking the Irish basketball team might be another option for this high school point guard. Lisch is in the preliminary stages of putting together a final list of schools, but here's how it's currently looking:
"I'd say SLU is the leader at this time."
While Lisch's process of narrowing down his list of schools is admittedly coming along slowly, he says things should heat up over the next few months, now that his high school season is complete.
"I'm just getting done with the season and am slowly starting to sort things out. I anticipate a decision coming this summer though."
As for his junior season that recently ended with a postseason loss to Belleville West High School, Lisch called it a success on several levels.
"My junior season was good. I had a lot of fun and the team did good overall. I put up a little more than 24 points a game and had fun in the process, so it was good."
Lisch is pretty darn good himself and while he might not rank amongst the top tier point guards in his class, he'll make some college coach very happy in the near future with his ability on both ends of the court and leadership skills.
Stay tuned for more on this three star point guard prospect.
