Can Kansas Clinch the Deal?

Lewis Clinch is turning heads in Orlando as he continues to put up eye-popping numbers. The Jayhawks have offered, but what are Coach Self's chances of landing the talented guard from the state of Georgia?

Mike Sullivan has the details inside.

He might be the most exciting guard in the 2005 class. Lewis Clinch continues to tear it up here at the Showcase in Orlando, Florida. Clinch, who scored 46 points in a pool game yesterday, followed it up in the evening playoff game with 30 more points.

Clinch, a 6-foot-2 combo guard from the state of Georgia, has plenty of offers on the table now after surprising many college coaches with his ability to score from anywhere on the court. Watching the two games yesterday was Kansas head coach Bill Self. The Jayhawks have offered Clinch along with Georgia, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Wake Forest, North Carolina State, and Miami.

"I have to go back home after the Nationals and start narrowing my list," Clinch said. "I just want to find the right situation, and be very comfortable with the school and the coaches."

It could be hard for Kansas to land Clinch but he's very interested right now. "I want to take visits," Clinch said. "So it might be a school I might use an official visit for. I have to talk to my mom and see what I want to do in August. I go back to school early so I can start taking the visits in a few weeks." Top Stories
