Costner on his Kansas In-Home

Slowly, the recruiting process involving 6-foot-8 forward Brandon Costner of Seton Hall Prep in New Jersey is becoming more clear.

Brandon Costner now has a list of three schools -- Kansas, North Carolina State, and UCLA. Costner said Seton Hall is out of the recruiting race. Costner has already officially visited UCLA and it's becoming even more clear that the schools to beat in this recruiting race are NC State and Kansas.

"I had an in home with Coach (Bill) Self the other night," Costner said. "It went very well. Coach Self explained the Julian Wright situation."

The situation being that the outstanding athlete, Wright, has given Self a verbal commitment. "Coach Self explained to me that we would be a perfect compliment to each other," Brandon said. "He said we would be great for each other and we would make each other better."

Costner fell comfortable with Self's explanation. "We could be a great help to each other," Costner said. "I have no problem with it. I am looking forward to taking a visit to Kansas."

The visit to Kansas will take place on September 24th. This weekend, Costner takes a trip to North Carolina State. Costner was asked if he liked the trip enough to State, could he verbal to Herb Sendek's program? Costner responded: "No. I plan on taking the trip to Kansas no matter what happens."

Costner, a player who has the skills to drop down jumpers as well as bang inside to score and draw fouls, is also considering UCLA. "My in home went very well too with the coaching staff," Costner said. "I am still considering UCLA."

Brandon hopes to sign a letter of intent in November after finishing up his remaining two visits. Top Stories
