Kansas never trailed in the game as senior Wayne Simien led five Jayhawks in double-figures with 18 points. Fellow senior Keith Langford added 17 points, while senior Aaron Miles scored 11 points and dished out a game-high nine assists.
The story of the game for KU was the play of junior Jeff Hawkins, who scored a season-high 15 points. Hawkins connected on 5-of-5 from three-point range in 13 minutes off the bench.
Sophomore J.R. Giddens rounded out the double-figure scorers with 14.
"We really executed well against their zone tonight," Kansas head coach Bill Self said. "I though everybody played well. It was a positive performance for our team tonight."
"Jeff Hawkins was great tonight, he has hung in it all year and has had a great attitude," Self added.
"I felt like anything I put up was going to go in tonight," Hawkins said. "I new that if I kept my head and there and played hard at practice I would be ready for an opportunity like I had tonight."
Kansas (15-1, 5-0 Big 12), will return home Saturday to face Texas in Big 12 action. Tip-off at Allen Fieldhouse is scheduled for 8 p.m.
