Season Over for Kansas

This was why they call it March Madness. It was the kind of upset story that a college basketball fan could love - unless your team was the high seed left looking bewildered and pained on the sidelines.

Kansas had an opportunity to steal the game from Bucknell, but it just wasn't going to happen this evening. The No. 14-seeded Bucknell Bisons knocked the Jayhawks from the NCAA Tournament with a 64-63 first-round win Friday in Oklahoma City.

Comments from Bill Self

"The game never had a lot of rhythm for us. We tried hard. It seemed like when we tried hard, they caught a break or two. Bucknell played great."

"We watched a ton of tape. We knew that their strengths could expose us, if we allowed it to. And we did. "

"It's crushing. I didn't even really know what to tell the team afterwards. These guys have worked awfully hard to put themselves in this position and to see it end like this - is a big blow that no one anticipated."

"Tonight, I thought we could piece it together but it just didn't work out."

"I feel terrible for the seniors. It is a sad day, sad game, but these guys should be proud and hold their heads high." Top Stories
