Going into the summer, Daniel Deane seemed like a guy that Kansas liked and was still in the process of evaluating. The staff did get to see him a few times this summer including at the adidas Superstar Camp. While he still might be a guy that Kansas is looking at, according to Deane the two haven’t had much contact lately.
“I haven’t much contact with them since my visit to Kansas,” Deane said. “I haven’t had contact with them recently, at all.”
While he hasn’t talked to them lately, the power forward still lists them as one of his top five schools. Utah, Gonzaga, UCLA, Wake Forest, and Kansas make up the top five. So is there any reason that the Jayhawks and Deane haven’t had much contact recently?
“Probably because I haven’t been in touch with them either,” Deane said.
Coaches can start visiting recruits today, and Deane is receiving visits from his hometown school, Utah, and Wake Forest. Originally, North Carolina was in the process of setting up an in-home visit with him, but Deane didn’t mention them when asked who was visiting him. However he did say that they called him recently.
“They called but I never called them back.”
The 99th ranked player in the class of 2006 has said in the past that he would like to make his decision around November.
