Six Commitments for Women's Hoops

After reeling in six newcomers (five of which are scholarship players) for this year's team, Kansas women's basketball coach Bonnie Henrickson appears to have six more on the hook for the class of 2006.

Phog.net has learned that Kansas has received verbal commitments from three more 2006 targets adding to a previous list of three ’06 stars that had already tapped Kansas.

Joining Danielle McCray, Lindsay Ballweg and Sade Morris on the list of 2006 commits are two more guards and one post player to help bolster KU’s ’06 recruiting class.  Kelly Kohn (5-9, G) of Adrian High School in Michigan joins LaChelda Jacobs (5-10, G) from Mansfield Summit School in Texas on the list of backcourt talent picking Kansas.  Henrickson also landed a verbal from another Texas talent in Porscha Weddington (6-1, F) of Temple High School.

Kohn attended “Late Night in the Phog” on October 14th and could be a candidate for “Ms. Basketball” in the state of Michigan.  Both Jacobs and Weddington are considered to be amongst the Top 30 players in the lone star state.

It’s believed that Kansas would still like to add one more player to its 2006 class.  Check back for more recruiting developments on the Kansas women’s basketball program.
