After trailing 52-0 at halftime, Kansas posted its first points of the game with 14:14 left in the third quarter when junior running back Jon Cornish scored his team leading ninth rushing touchdown of the season on a 59-yard run to make the score, 52-7. It marks the third-straight game that Cornish has rushed for a touchdown.
Later in the third quarter, sophomore running back Brandon McAnderson scored on a 16-yard run on the second play of the drive. The touchdown was the first on the season for the Lawrence, Kan. native, and the second of his career.
Senior Clark Green led the Crimson and Blue rushing attack with 68 yards on 11 carries, while Cornish finished with five carries for 57 yards. Senior Jason Swanson completed 17-of-36 passes for 150 yards and one interception, while junior Charles Gordon pulled in five receptions for 43 yards.
The Jayhawks will be home for their final regular season game as they try to become bowl eligible against Iowa State. The game is slated for an 11:30 kickoff and will also mark Kansas' Senior Day.
