January Visit Scheduled

Tertavian Ingram, a 6-foot-, 185-pound, wide receiver, from Jefferson High in Tampa, Fla., visited Purdue in November and Rutgers in December. Ingram gave Purdue his verbal commitment but that commitment could be challenged by a January official visit to Kansas.

"I'm verbally committed to Purdue but I don't know if I'm done yet," Tertavian Ingram said.

"What I liked the most about Purdue was the fact that a lot of the wide receivers there play early. That's big with me. I'd like to get out on the field early and contribute.

"Purdue is a also a very good academic school and I felt comfortable there on my visit. Distance wasn't much of an issue. Most of my offers are from out-of-state. It was cold at Purdue but it was colder at Rutgers.

"I got along well with the coaches and the players at Purdue and that was an important factor for me as well. I want to be surrounded by people that I get along with and everything like that."

Is Ingram still taking phone calls from college recruiters?

"I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to take my official visits to Kansas (1-6) and UNLV (1-13) in January.

"Kansas State was calling me during the season and things dropped off but they are starting to recruit me again. I'm just not sure what I'm going to do in January. I could take a few visits or I could just shut things down."

Ingram is a four-year varsity member for Jefferson and he has started the past three seasons. This past season he had 800 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns.

Ingram currently has scholarship offers from Purdue, Rutgers, Kansas, West Virginia, South Florida, Florida Atlantic and Iowa State. Kansas State had an offer on the table before the coaching change.
