After Iowa State jumped out to an early 8-1 lead, the Jayhawks fought back and responded with a 23-7 run that was punctuated by back-to-back 3-pointers from senior guard Jeff Hawkins. KU went on to build a 47-32 halftime lead behind 11 points apiece from Wright and Rush, who both connected on electrifying alley-oops during the stanza.
