Texas opened the second half on a 20-8 run and would lead by as many as 28 with its 61 percent shooting in the second stanza. UT's 55.1 percent field goal percentage for the game was the most by a Jayhawk opponent this season.
Kansas was led by Wright who poured in 18 points, while freshman Mario Chalmers had 10 points to go with five steals and Russell Robinson added nine points and eight assists.
The Jayhawks will honor its four seniors, Christian Moody, Stephen Vinson, Jeff Hawkins and Moulaye Niang on Senior Night, Wednesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. in Lawrence against Colorado. The game will also mark the last home broadcast for legendary radio commentator Max Falkenstein, who is retiring after 60 years with the Jayhawks.
