Kansas Defensive Tackle Back from Camps

Olathe South defensive tackle Jervon Graves has hit the summer camp circuit and looking for his first scholarship offer. Several schools are on the verge of extending offers. Graves talks of his summer camp visits and the schools with the most interest.

"I have been to camps at Missouri, Kansas and Iowa," said Jervon Graves from Olathe, (Kansas). "I still have not received any offers. I think Iowa is close to offering me. I think Kansas may be close to offering me as well."

"My coach told me Kansas really likes me a lot. I don't know if they are going to offer but, my coach thinks they will. The only other camp I am going to is the Southern Illinois team camp."

Graves talks about the three summer camp experiences.

"The Missouri camp went well," he said. "I thought I did pretty good. The coaches told me I did well, and they would be in contact with me."

"I did okay at the Kansas camp. I tweaked my ankle during the first session. I didn't really get to do much after that happened. I didn't think I did so well but, they said they were still recruiting me hard."

"The Iowa camp was the highlight of all the camps. I did my best there. The coaches said I did very well, and they contacted me soon after the camp."

When asked favorites Graves replied, "I don't have any favorites right now. I am still open to anyone."

Graves stands 6-1, 295-pounds and is working hard this summer improving key areas of his game before his senior season.

"The summer work-outs have been going really good," he said. "I am working on my speed and explosiveness. I am working on several areas of my game. I am working on my change of direction. I have been working on my triceps and getting my bench press up as well."
