Nebraska Defensive Tackle Names Favorite

Defensive tackle Sam Siegel (6-4, 285-pounds) of Lincoln-Southwest is one of the better line prospects in Nebraska. Despite not having any scholarship offers at the present time, he is hearing the most from Iowa, Kansas and Kansas State. Which one of the three holds the early lead?

"Kansas is my favorite," Sam Siegel said. "They are recruiting me the hardest. The coaching staff is really good. I like Coach Mangino. Kansas likes my speed and power off the ball. If they offer, I'd probably take it."

In what makes him a solid prospect along the defensive line, Siegel points towards his quickness and strength. He recorded 55 tackles and three sacks last season.

Siegel plans to decide after the season, but will focus on two key aspects when it comes time to announce his school of choice.

"The coaching staff and distance from home will be the most important factors," he said.

Siegel bench presses 330 and squats 435. He carries a 3.6 GPA and scored a 20 on the ACT. Top Stories
