Nebraska DL Waiting for Offers

Ryan Pluta, of Lincoln-North Star, (Neb.) has yet to collect his initial offer, but he could turn into a classic late bloomer this fall. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder with 4.9 speed is receiving correspondence from a few Division I as well as several Division II programs.

"Kansas is pretty consistent with their letters and stuff, and I really like the program," Ryan Pluta said. "I like the facilities and the stadium. I like the coaches, and they all seem like nice guys."

"Kansas State has always sent me stuff and I like them too. They have a lot of history, and I like their new coach."

"Georgia Tech is a strong program, and they are one of my favorites."

Pluta's sophomore and junior seasons saw him earn the title of Defensive Player of the Year at North Star High School. He received honorable mention All-State honors last season.

"I play smash mouth football, and the schools like my toughness," he said. "I'm aggressive, and I stay low off the ball."

When the offers do roll in, Pluta knows the factors of his decision.

"Academics and my major will be important," he said. "I'll also look at the type of people at the school and the history of the program. I want to keep my options open, but I want to commit during the season."

Pluta bench presses 260 and squats 420. Top Stories
