Jayhawks Land Linebacker Commitment

Drew Dudley, from College Station-A&M Consolidated, Texas, announced his verbal pledge to play for coach Mark Mangino and the Kansas Jayhawks Monday afternoon. Dudley is an athletic linebacker and expects to play the middle position.

"I made my commitment a couple hours ago," Drew Dudley said. "I called coach [John] Reagan, coach [Mike] Mallory and I talked to coach Mangino. They were all real excited and said I make a perfect fit for them."

"I felt like Kansas was the perfect fit for me. I love the coaches. I love everything about Kansas."

"I chose Kansas over Oklahoma State, Baylor, Arizona and UTEP. I won't be taking any more visits. I am 100-percent committed."

"I am really excited to be committed to them right now. I feel like a lot of pressure has been released."

Dudley recorded 119 tackles, five sacks and added one blocked punt during his junior campaign.
