"They said everyone over there in Kansas was excited. I am excited for myself to commit to them. I have been thinking about making my commitment for a long time."
Dorsey has several reasons for selecting the Jayhawks.
"I like the academic program," he said. "Their football team is up and coming. I like the depth chart. I like the coaches. I think it is a good fit for me. My recruiting coach was coach Reagan. I love him. We have a really good relationship."
"It feels great to have my decision over with. There is less stress."
The Jayhawks welcome the new verbal pledge, and Dorsey feels he brings a lot to the table.
"I feel like I can bring more aggression to the defensive line. I can pressure the quarterback," he said.
Dorsey was also holding a scholarship offer from Houston. He is a solid commitment to Kansas.
He is on track to qualify with 1450 on the SAT and maintains a 3.9 GPA.
