Jayhawks Score Commitment

All along, Kansas head coach Bill Self indicated that he expected the Jayhawks to land at least one more player during the early signing period. While it was generally expected that Kansas was looking to land a wing -- and the search for a wing will continue through the winter -- the commitment comes from a guard in the Jayhawks own backyard.

Tuesday night, Burlington (KS) High standout Tyrel Reed committed to Kansas after receiving an offer a few weeks earlier. A 6-3 PG, Reed has led Burlington to a 68-2 record and a state championship during his first three years.

With tremendous size for a PG, Reed is also an excellent shooter who is versatile enough to play on the wing. He’ll seal the deal on Wednesday by signing a letter of intent and joins Cole Aldrich to make up the Jayhawks 2007 recruiting class.

Stay tuned to Phog.net for more on Reed’s commitment.
