Rush averaged 13.7 points and 5.7 rebounds for his career on two Big 12 regular-season and two league tournament championship teams. Should he not sign with an agent, he would be eligible to return to Kansas for his junior season should he pull his name out of the NBA draft.
A Wooden Award All-America selection in 2006-07, the 6-6, 210-pound Rush averaged a team-high 13.8 points as a sophomore and led KU with 50 three-point field goals. The Kansas City, Mo., guard was second on the team with 5.6 rebounds per contest. As a freshman, Rush led Kansas in scoring with 13.5 points per game and rebounding with a 5.9 average.
Rush was an All-Big 12 First Team selection in both his seasons at Kansas. In 2006-07, Rush was selected to the NCAA West Regional All-Tournament team and helped Kansas advance to the Elite Eight of the event. He was also a member of the Big 12 All-Tournament team in March and was a Naismith Trophy finalist.
Rush becomes the second Kansas player to declare for the NBA draft. Sophomore forward Julian Wright declared on April 9.
