Victor Johnson is what analyst would call, football smart. His ability to read, re-act, and make the play is what makes this now 6'2" 185 lbs hard hitting DB a highly regarded player at the next level.
With his season now over, Waco High School went 9-2, Victor is now excited to make some visits and find out exactly where he will take his game next year.
"I will be visiting Oklahoma State on the 30th. That will be my first visit so far. I like them," said Johnson. "They are a young team and getting better."
Johnson has pretty much kept the same list for a few months, but one program has really jumped out to him.
"Kansas. I've watched them and they are undefeated," Johnson said. "I get along well with the coaches and it's a really big deal to me that they are doing good."
One thing that this hard hitting safety has noticed is that the Kansas coaching staff has done a great job of developing players. One player Johnson has noticed is All American candidate, Aqib Talib.
"I like that they have done a great job getting guys ready for the next level, like Aqib," Johnson commented. It shows that if I can take care of them on the field, they will take care of me and help me get to the next level."
Playing great defense isn't the only thing that Johnson can at the next level. He also has played wide receiver, returned kicks, and is now working on his punt returning skills.
"I think I can play anywhere on the field. I can play wherever coaches want me, but I really like playing defense since I started playing it in high school."
With his first visit coming up at the end of this month, it doesn't appear that Victor will make a decision anytime soon.
"I want to take all my visits before I decide. I will visit Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Kansas. I don't know after that. I will probably decide the day before signing day."
Jayhawk fans will be waiting.
