Ben Lueken, 6-5, 290-pound offensive lineman

Accolades: First-team All-Conference, first-team All-Metro and first-team All-State. Jersey No.65.

Strengths: "I'm a pretty strong run blocker, and I get to the next level pretty well."

Needs work: "I'm looking forward to pulling better and being more comfortable as a pass blocker."

Additional facts: Three-year letterman in football, 3.5 GPA, 24 ACT. Lueken plans to major in Exercise Science or Business.

Leuken was born 4/5/89 and the son of Jeff and Lori Lueken.

Recruiting coach: "Coach Ed Warinner was the main coach that handled my recruiting. Coach Mangino also came by the school twice, which was huge. The thing I like the best about Coach Warinner is that I can trust him. He's always straightforward with me, and was totally honest with me from the beginning."

Expect to redshirt?: "The way I look at is that redshirting is not a bad thing whatsoever. A guy may not be ready to play, and I think redshirting is a great idea. It's another year to prepare and get your education. I'm going to prepare myself this off-season and whatever the coaches want me to is what I'll do."

Why KU?: "I like everything about Kansas. They were the first ones to contact me, and they always showed a lot of interest. It's a good program, and one that's on the rise. The main thing I like about Kansas is that they are good people, and they care about their players. I haven't met anyone there yet that I don't like."
