Recruiting coach: "Coach Steve Tovar recruited me. He called me a lot back in the summer and said they were watching me early on. He stayed in touch with me and would tell me where I stood on their list. He kept me updated with everything, and we have a good relationship."

Expect to redshirt?: "A lot of linemen redshirt, and I agree with that. As an offensive linemen, you have to know all of the plays. There will be a lot of guys ahead of me next year. If you are better than them, you can take their spot. But I think you need that extra year to build yourself up and be better prepared to play."

Why KU?: "When I visited there for the Nebraska game I saw how the team was together and bonded. I like the family atmosphere at Kansas. Everyone there is real personable. The players treated me like I was part of the team."
