Expected to redshirt?: "I had meetings with the D-line coach, and he basically told me to gain as much weight as I can. I'm already 6-3, 255, and I'm only 19 [years old]."
"They know I can grow without losing my athleticism and if I put on weight, it would make me more valuable because I can play everywhere on the D-line. They really want me to play the 3 technique so I can come in and play early, but I'll be able to play D-tackle or D-end."
Why Kansas?: "I had to do it. I was waiting to find a school where I would feel the most comfortable. I went to UTEP and loved it. There was nothing wrong with it but, I told myself to look at Kansas and if it was better than UTEP, than I knew it was for me."
