Needs work: "I'm working on my speed, and I'm learning the playbook. You can always get stronger, faster and quicker, and you can always work on throwing the football."

Recruiting coach/relationship: "Coach [Ed] Warinner recruited me for Kansas. He seems like a great guy and great person. He knows a lot about football, which is a plus."

Expected to redshirt?: "I'm pretty sure I'll redshirt this year. Todd [Reesing] will be a senior. Hopefully, I'll be able to compete for playing time next year. Getting a whole other year of eligibility would be a payoff in the end."

Why Kansas?: "Kansas has a family feel about it. There are a lot of advantages for Kansas. I wanted to get away a little bit for school, but not too far. The coaching staff is awesome, and they are good people."
