"Very, very good pass rusher."

Quintin Woods, 6-6, 245-pound defensive end from Bakersfield Community College in Calif., was named second team-All-Conference.

Statistics: Quintin Woods had 44 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks (9 games).

Bakersfield Head Coach Jeff Chudy gave more insight of the playmaking ability of his former player.

"Very athletic kid. Very, very good pass rusher. A lot of athleticism," Chudy said. "He's 6-6 225."

"I think he will be a guy that will give them [KU} a lot of great speed and a lot of great athleticism as a pass rusher. He will be tough to block. He has long arms, and he can disrupt some throws."

The one area Chudy feels Woods will need to improve, "He's got to get bigger," he stated.

Coach Chudy also discussed why Woods selected the Jayhawks.

"I think obviously they have done an amazing job in the last three-four years turning their program around and everything is the right fit," he stated. "I'm sure the kid just felt like it was a good fit for him."

Recruiting coach: Woods was recruited by KU assistant Clint Bowen.
